Our Beliefs

Statement of Faith

The Bible:

II Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV) “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. So that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

The written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, is contained in the Bible and is the infallible and complete written revelation of God.

The Bible is a written manual for life in Christ and a guide for Godly living. It provides a revelation of God’s will for our means of salvation and conduct.

The Trinity:

Matthew 28:19 (NIV) “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again; He ascended into Heaven, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the ecumenical church as a body of believers in Christ Jesus, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Salvation:

Romans 10:9-10 (NIV) “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

I John 1:9 (NIV) “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

We believe that salvation comes through a personal confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and through the repentance of sin. We believe that this is made possible by the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross providing our redemption from sin.

Water Baptism:

Acts 2:38 (NIV) “…Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the Name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.”

Holy Spirit Baptism:

Acts 1:8 (NIV) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”

Acts 5:32 (NIV) “We are witnesses of these things, as so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.”

The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is given to all believers who ask for it, and gives the believer power to witness, power to stand, power to live the life that Jesus taught us to live.

Second coming of Jesus Christ:

Acts 1:11 (NIV) "This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven."

I Thessalonians 4:14-18 (NIV)

Titus 2:13-14 (NIV)

Hebrews 9:28 (NIV) "Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.

We believe that there will be glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Great Commission:

Matthew 28: 19-20 (NIV) "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

We believe that our mission is to take the gospel to the nations both locally and globally.
